Measurement-while-drilling (MWD) data provides accurate insight on the well's position, inclination, azimuth, and other critical parameters, with real-time data about the wellbore. Real-time data helps operators identify issues early to make adjustments and corrections.
MWD is necessary when drilling horizontal and directional wells, drilling in complex geologic formations, and drilling wells in offshore environments. These situations require high-accuracy, precision, and quick access to real-time information to make informed decisions about the drilling process.
MWD services help operators increase drilling efficiency, reduce drilling time, maximize production, and ultimately save costs.

High temperatures can cause standard drilling tools and equipment to degrade rapidly, reducing their effectiveness and lifespan. This can lead to increased costs, downtime, and potential safety hazards.
Tools designed for use in high-temperature drilling environments, such as those that can withstand temperatures of 185° degrees Celsius, are made from specialized materials and coatings that can resist degradation and maintain their performance under extreme conditions.
Using high-temperature tools can increase efficiency and safety in high-temperature drilling operations. These tools can withstand extreme heat and maintain their effectiveness, reducing the need for frequent tool changes and the risk of tool failures or malfunctions.
In addition to high-temperature resistance, specialized tools may also be designed to provide other benefits, such as increased durability, enhanced performance, and improved data accuracy.
High-temperature tools, such as Apex MWD’s Extreme Temp portfolio, can improve efficiency, safety, and overall performance while reducing the risk of costly tool failures or malfunctions.

While 200°C tools will not always be required, you can successfully re-run these tools at lower temperatures.
When operators do hit high temperatures beyond the curve, having a tool capable of withstanding and thriving in this environment saves time and money by avoiding work stoppage to change to a probe that can handle the extreme temperature.
