An Operator was drilling in the Haynesville Shale Play and needed to improve performance and reduce downtime while drilling the 5-in. curve/lateral section. They worked with the Apex MWD team to determine the best solution and incorporated the Apex HT tool into the BHA.

By combining the robust tool with their 24/7 real-time center personnel, Apex MWD was able to eliminate a trip and NPT by completing the 7,935 ft interval in 248 circulating hours. They successfully drilled through temperatures as high as 339°F.
